Gifts, etc.

The following are pictures of the newly 3 month old Cormac wearing gifts hand-made by his Great-Grandmother Ellie (the blue blanket, sweater, and booties) and from our friend Tracy Imle (the hat).

3 months old.  On May 23rd such a milestone felt forever away.  Now it feels like he's always been here.

Strange, but kind of awesome.

A boy and his toy

Well, here (pic1) is photographic evidence of the first confirmed sighting of voluntary (by cormac) toy interaction - note the blurred toy indicating its being shaken by the child. I did not put the toy in his hand, but simply laid it in the swing with him. When I heard a rattle ten minutes later I turned around to see this. Now, I don't know if this can be fairly called "play", as he let go of it shortly thereafter and then found himself highly amused by the baby reflected in the swing's mirror (pic2). Still, not bad for a kid 2 months and 2 days old.

First day alone together, continued - 1:10pm

Well, the second bottle feeding has now happened and I've swaddled him and put him in the crib.  Here's hoping he decides to sleep for even a little bit.  Of course, just as I wrote that I heard a "wah" from his room.  Dang...

>1:15 - gave him his plug and said something that I hope was soothing.  See if that does the trick.  Today's count so far:  2 onesie changes (his), 1 t-shirt change (mine), 1 major barf (hence the onesie and tshirt changes), 2 bottles given, 3 pepsi throwbacks consumed, 2 loads of laundry done.

>8:23 - Erin was home by 5, and both Cormac and I were still here.  Whew.
